Budaörs has a long-running partnership with ACORNCAMPS, and this summer was the second of its kind, unique to ACORNCAMPS, a ‘2-in-1’ Church Family Camp! Ice creams, trips to the ‘beach’ (by the beautiful ‘Sós Tó’ – Salt Lake), and silly games were amongst the activities the church family and their youth had the chance to be a part of.

The team of English people – Neil & Jane Beatson, Steve & Kate Shepherd & the kids, and Anna Read – travelled with the church family and their youth to the eastern town of Nyíregyháza for a week of youth and church family events and teaching from the Bible.

Neil and his translator for the week, Pastor Endreffy Géza, gave talks from Luke’s gospel on the early days of Jesus’ ministry. These were helpfully sprinkled with insights into the medical state of many sick people Jesus met and healed, together with their spiritual implications for we the listeners. The week was blessed by extra stories from Neil and Jane of life as missionaries in South Africa (in the medical world) and God’s protecting hand in that time.

It was a blessing to see the Youth Group come together and form a fun and spiritually encouraging programme for the teenagers. Once again, it was a joy to experience different cultures together and to join with brothers and sisters to praise and serve the LORD. We pray this group – and the whole church family – will grow more in their faith and love for the Lord Jesus and each other, and for those around them who don’t yet know Jesus.
