Acorn Camps Prayer update Date: 15 July 2009
Vác Baptist Camp ( 5-12 July)
The camp was a great success with around 20 teenagers coming from outside the
church to join around 25 members of the Vác Baptist ‘Youth Group’ (Aged 14-30)
who helped run the camp.
There was much to give thanks to God for including:
- Great clear talks from Exodus which explained the gospel.
- Good conversations with the teenagers and great mixing between the
youth group and the ‘outsiders.’ A good number of them want to start
attending the Baptist Church.
- A girl who seemed to come to faith that week.
- Great working relationships with the Church leaders.
- The team enjoyed being hosted by Church families, safety, team unity …
Thank you for your prayers and do continue to pray for ongoing relationships.
Plans are already being discussed about a camp in 2010.
Training Camp – Current (13-17 July)
Around 16 people are attending the training week where Pastor Geza (from
Zsófi’s Church) is giving morning talks from 2 Timothy, David Todd is taking
people through Daniel showing how to handle the Bible and Andy Oatridge is
doing some teaching on working with Young people.
Thank God for those who are here, pray that they would really grasp both how
important it is to study the Bible well, and then how to do it.
Kesckemet Camp (18 – 25 July)
Pray for final preparations for team coming out, and that teenagers would come,
that relationships with the Church would be built and teenagers grow in their
Christian life / become Christians.
Also please pray for Andy, Zsofi and Chris who will be looking at possible sites to
set up the Oakes in Hungary.
Many thanks for your prayers and support.
Andy & Zsófi Oatridge
